A Shanty Called Shawmut

Posted by Hello
The train shakes me awake.
A straggle of late night faces and I.
The paper rests on the floor from my hands.
Eyes open to see Fields Corner concourse.

What and where am I?
A childlike anxiety takes a quick hold.
Not wanting to ask questions of strangers,
who could possibly get stranger.
When you're lost, the next stop is always the longest.

I step off at Shawmut hoping to find both an outbound and inbound.
I'm hit with a thick mildew smell,
like a family lived there to long and grew into it.
The stairs to cross over to inbound are crumbling.

I sit and stare down the tunnel and listen to the young and arrogant.
Among the constant hard splats of water dripping from the ceiling.
Fireproofing hanging from the beams, and the supports.
A place that seems utterly forgotten in a day that has grown long and old.

The tunnel is foul and endless.
I stare blankly wondering if in my dream I was walking down that track.
A track that supports more of what it is itself.

So I take it there's no light at the end of this tunnel?

Have a good one, B.

I feel good. It was just a long night last night. I get up at 6am everyday during the week. I work till 5pm then I go to school and get home around 9:30-10pm if I am lucky.

I got on the wrong train in the subway and I had to backtrack to where I wanted to go because I fell asleep on the train. The Shawmut stop is real ghetto and I had to listen to this girl say, "Shakin' dat ass." repeatitivley for at least 10 mins while a dude laugh at her saying it. I got home late and went right to bed. No unwinding no nothing. Straight to bed.

I just wanted to vent about those 20mins I woke up and realized I was on the wrong train and the event that transpired up intil the train came and got me.

I'm good though, I'm happy. Just spread thin is all. Thanks T.:)

Know how you feel about the sleep thing -- I almost fell asleep at the wheel the other day.

It seems this is the season to be spread thin -- and the high pollen dosent count.

I hope you get an easy day soon to be able to rest, and take it easy man.

I've never been on a train though, The town I live in dosent have very good public transportation -- how much does it cost as opposed to driving?

My fiance "A" hears you about the high pollen count. She has horrible allergies. She is going in for nasal surgery this Thursday. She has allergies something fierce.

I drive around the suburban town I live in. I just commute into town for work and school. The T pass costs me about 130$ a month but that money goes to keeping the enviorment cleaner and saving our means of transportation. I wonder if I could be using my T pass as a tax write off? hmmmmmmm.

Listening to some broad say "shake dat ass" would drive anyone crazy.

I feel for you, man.

I'm so glad we don't have subways in my town, who knows where I'd be right now!

Glad to hear you're feeling better.

You're right, Jay IS all over the place. He seems like a cool dude, though.

Have a good night, buddy!

Speak to you soon.
