This One's for Big William

Now all them squiggly lines is what God calls, Tectonic Plates. Yup.
An accountant friend of mine, God bless his soul, argued with me that Boston couldn't have a substantial earthquake since the nearest fault line is so far out in the ocean. It seems like a reasonable train of though except that he's a regular jackass.
We know the Earth is like a big e-fing broken egg covered with fault lines. The truth is that a tectonic fault called, "The North American Plate", is hundreds of miles into the Atlantic, but that doesn't mean if it shifted it wouldn't create a problem of epic proportion to the city of Boston.
Downtown Boston is built on soft ground, and none of the buildings were designed for earthquakes even after it had one. An egregious error by our state and national security unit, that we'll all whine about and blame when people, and possibly loved ones are killing in buildings that will sink into a gigantic sink hole; and when it mixes with water will turn into something reminiscent of quicksand. What a jackass. Just kidding Bill, I love ya buddy.
To all a good night.

Earthequakes make me feel so helpless, since there's nothing you can do about them. Scientists spend so much time trying to predict the next earthquake, but when has anybody ever been prepared for one?
At least with hurricanes we can put up storm windows, bring in the lawn furniture, or just drive our asses out of dodge.
Because of living in both California and Japan, I've been through my share of earthquakes. Kobe was a big one, luckily I wasn't living on the mainland at that time. We pretty much just felt the aftershocks. It was still crazy though.
Natural disasters freak me out.
Remember what you learned in grade school: "duck and cover"!
Have a great weekend, B. Speak to you soon.

Yeah, all natural occurances really put things into perspective. And they're are said to get increasingly more forceful and destructive as time goes on.
I went through a 6.0 in California in 2001 and it was pretty shocking. Granted, I was awakened from a drunken slumber. But I remember looking out the bay window of the condo and seeing the swimming pool and whirlpool in the middle of the complex, sloshing back and forth and waves crashing splashing out of the pool. I was inbetween a doorway frame and it felt like we were on a ship.
You too T.
Good work, i had your back in that arguement.
If anon is little bill, why don't you come down for the game tonight bro.
Never been in an earthquake -- I've been around a tornado though -- and nature is pretty good at being scary.
Japan's supposed to be pretty prepared for earthquakes now, there's a building being put up thats going to be tallest in the world -- and they have a giant pendulum going through the building thats supposed to help with earthquakes- - I saw a special on TV -- its fsking amazing what they do now.
I think its just natural selection -- the building design's that stand after an earthquake will be what they use again.
Peace -

Natural disasters suck, but they keep us on our toes and they remind us that we aren't invincible. Don't fuck with mother nature! She'll kick your ass!
Lrage William Here, I did not say Boston could not have an earthquake, but rather I argued the fact that there is a fault line by us, as you had said. Earthquakes can happen anywhere, it is a misconception that they only happen on fault lines. I believe the biggest US earthquale on record happened in the Midwest where they are no fault lines. I agree that Boston would be fucked if an earthquake hit around here. That was one of my points Boston isn't earthquake proof. Look at all the brick, if an earthquake were likely no one would use brick to build since it crumbles. Keep up the good work BEO and model that sex man bitch underwear of yours for me some time.
So what the hell were you arguing then, Big Bill? Just the fact that there is no fault line by us? I said there is a fault line by Boston, I liked the intended effect the sentence gave. Ignorant people might have felt a wave of danger hit them.
You were like, "There is no fault line near Boston. It's way out in the ocean."
So in theory, it's by the whole east coast. Which includes Boston, right? You Jackass.
Come over sometime, and I'll show you my man thongs and "A" and I will have a three way with you. You can bring your wife if you'd like as well, and we could swap. Whatever you like, your call.
So I have that going for me.
