Classic Odd Quotes: V

Barbara Bush - "What I'm hearing, which is sort of scary, is they all want to stay in Texas. Everyone is so overwhelmed by the hospitality. And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this is working very well for them.''

''A personal observation'' about the people at a relocation center in Houston, and how they were faring better than before Hurricane Katrina struck, President Bush's spokesman said Wednesday. The White House is distancing itself from the statement, seeing as how Barbara sounds like an uppity female dog.

The son of Barbara Bush - George W. Bush - "I don't think anyone anticipated the breach of the levees."

This was said last week, with full knowledge that there is physical documentation proving that President Bush slashed funding for flood prevention by 80% strickly for upgrading the levee system that keeps New Orleans dry.

"Bush's big idea is that the responsibility for society's well-being belongs to the private sector (each individual state). But then, why, exactly, do we need a government in the first place?!?!"

"Just to line the pockets of the elite 2% of civilization, whose soon-to-be permanent tax cuts provided impetus for eviscerating FEMA's budget?" - Mike Mennonno; an excellent freelance writer living in Boston's Jamaica Plain

He knew how bad Katrina was supposed to be, he just didn't want to think about it. He was on vacation after all.

Stro', and Sylvana you're both correct. Yet, the goverment spin machine is in action.

The only right move Bush could make, was to accept responsibility. I was really hopeing he would blame someone else, because that would go down as one of the greatest govermental/Presidential blunnders of all time.

Instead, his P.R. people told him to take one for the country, and be better off in the near future. As his acceptance by the nation would have assuredly dropped off the map.

It will still be one of the biggest black spots on George W's candidacy. Unfortunetly, there is still plenty of time.

Another scary little tid-bit. The mosaic of Bush's face in this post, is made all out of pictures of Jesus.
