It's About that Time

This is what it all boils down to.
I don't talk about the Red Sox often because even though there is plenty of great things that happen throughout the year, none of it really matters until September, October. With an exception to one Mr. David Ortiz, maybe.
But, it all really doesn't matter until now. In uniformed fashion, we chase the Yankees with a chance at the playoffs on the line. I'm ready for us to blow it as to
soften the blow if it actually happens. And the whole city is gearing up to go bananas. This is the greatest city to be in for sports. Even when teams suck, people still get intoxicated and scream. It's a way for Boston men to get away from it all, and have an excuse for it.
What do New Yorkers do. Well, criminal things,...let's see...talk to loud, sell out, act condescendingly. People I know that live in Boston, and come from New York don't even know the players on their teams, and this goes for mostly guys! What's up with that? And the majority of New Yorkers here in Boston are overwhelmingly materialistic. They think the whole point to life is to chase the proverbial carrot, because that's how their successful counterparts back in their hometown live. Envy can be a heck of a female dog, as well as a sin.
It's gross dude. Totally gross, and they just trot along until this time of the year comes up and they get all into the season. "You're going down Red Sox!" Shut your mouth, ya little freak. Clean up your city, it stinks. Crime is so bad, you have people routinely writing comic books about superheroes saving citizens in your city for crackers sake.
I'm digressing, the point is that I decided to take my Biology course on Friday nights because I was originally scheduled for Sunday mornings. I had to switch that day because the NFL is on Sunday. Now, the first game of the Sox / Yankees are on tonight, and I have to sit through a lecture and a lab tonight and miss the whole thing. Instead of watching the game I'll be doing this.
Ironic justice I guess, but I do have the weekend to look forward to. Not to mention, one of those Sundays where the Patriots play at 1 pm, and the Sox/Yankees are on at 2 pm. This always plays out for some weird moments, as the fans are watching both games even in Gillette Stadium. So you have a couple occurrences where Patriots fans cheer for an opposing teams play, because the Red Sox just made a play. Very odd, and even the players don't like it much.
Just shows how sick we really are.
You Wussy.

your blog is awesome! this stuff is funny! just happened to pass by while i was browsing blogs.
Thanks chiquitafilipina.:) Wow, that's a mouthful.
I don't know who I am rooting for. I hate the Evil Empire because they are well, uh, evil. And Boston beat my Cardinals last year in the series, but as someone as pointed out the Cards beat the Red Sox twice in the World Series ('67, '46) so all's fair, right?
I would love to see a three-way tie betweeen the Yanks, Red Sox and Indians for the last two spots and a one-game playoff Monday.
But deep down I am pulling for the Red Sox because I just can't root for the Yankees.
All is fair mrshife, if that's what it will take for you to root for the Red Sox.
I would love a one game playoff as well, if they could all tie. The more drama the better.
Hey, your Cards are pretty darn good as well man. Pretty scary actually.
I just hope the pitching holds up this year. I have been waiting since '82 for another title. By the way, I linked you on my blog because I think I will be stopping by often. I can tell you about my 1 ear experience.
We all hope our pitching holds up.:)
Nice! I'm glad you swung by and checked me out. I'll add you to my site as well. Enjoy the game tonight.
Hopefully, the Sox win and the fans get involved with Sheffield again.:)
I don't really watch baseball, but great post!
I hate to say it but I'm a yankees fan. Not the right place to comment but i will anyways. I think that picture is so freakn funny! I copied it and sent it to all the die hard yankee fans in my network... Hehehe. I like this blog still. Funny stuff and the political stuff is just as entertaining. I'm bookmarking you!

That is fine Chiquita.:) You can be a Yankees fan as long I can make fun of them without upsetting you. And that picture is real, it's all over ESPN (I wish).
